Dr. Leboeuf-Yde
Prof. Charlotte Leboeuf-Yde, DC, MPH, PhD, Research Professor in Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark has graciously accepted an invitation from our Board Chairman to join our Scientific Advisory Board.

Prof. Leboeuf-Yde formerly practiced as a chiropractor in France and Sweden, but for the past twenty years has mainly been engaged in research. While living in Australia in the 1980s she taught at the School of Chiropractic at the Phillip Institute of Technology in Melbourne and was employed at the Australian Spinal Research Foundation as Research Director. She then completed a Masters Degree in Public Health while working at two governmental departments as a researcher.

Dr Lebouf-Yde then returned to Europe where she completed a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. She spent some years as a researcher at the Nordic Institute for Chiropractic and Clinical Biomechanics in Odense and later as Research Director at a Danish local government medical research unit. In 2004 she was appointed Research Professor in Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark.

She is the author of numerous research articles and has two main research interests. From a public health perspective, she is interested in the causes and possibilities of prevention of back pain. From a clinical perspective, she would like to learn more about the different subpopulations of people with back pain in order to make it possible to direct patients to the best treatment. She is a firm believer in the need to integrate research with clinical practice, and to bring clinical practice into research.

Vision for Site

Our vision for the site.

This exciting new project will provide the World with a portal to information about our profession. Our Wiki is to be modeled after (but in no sense related to) Wikipedia, with a few basic differences.

  • 1.- WikiChiro should remain a Chiropractic domain. Naturally, we can look at other related alternative and complementary professions, IF they are rationally based, actually work, even if only empirically, AND they have at least SOME basis in rational scientific concepts. I feel very strongly that we should, remain mainstream. So: no crystal therapies, iridology, or dancing in Time's Square in grass skirts; unless you are FULLY prepared to back your ideas up in scientific studies; and,
  • 2.- Apropos that; WikiChiro should attempt to keep fringe elements out of the public face of this profession, and maintain a scientific and rational basis for any claims made by our contributors; and,
  • 3.- Like the biggest WikiSite, we need to stress that references are everything! In short, if you can't reference your claim, then you can't post it here; and,
  • 4.- We need a few closely trusted experts in our field's studies, to help in getting started; and, we need a few others who may not know much about Chiropractic, but are experts in the workings of Wikisites to help us get some of their functions working here; and,
  • 5.- We invite the directors of research of each of the World's Chiropractic Colleges, to participate in making this the forefront for Chiropractic research findings, and articles for the public. We plan to create a Board of Directors, and turn this into a non-profit foundation to perpetuate the database in perpetuity. Please log on, create an account and say so on your talk pages.
  • Finally: for those who would denigrate the largest NON-SURGICAL healing arts profession, by vandalizing this site. Know that you WILL be blocked, and then banned, very quickly under the same rules as on the majore Wikisites.

So...If you are here to help; PLEASE create an account; log in, and pitch in to help make this the premiere site in Chiropractic.

Let's empty the libraries of Chiropractic into this site and together we will make this THE go to place for Chiropractic data.
